Cindy Peters CRNFA, FNP-C
Cindy Peters has over 41 years of surgical experience with a passion and history in the vascular field. Cindy has worked as a surgical first assist since 1976. She is a board-certified nurse practitioner and accompanies the surgeons in their hospital-based surgical procedures. Cindy has been a preceptor for numerous RNFA students and an operating room scrub tech instructor. Cindy was a pioneer in the establishment of a scope of practice for non-physician 1st assistants in surgery for the state of Arizona. Cindy is very active with the El Zaribah Shriners hospitals for children organization as well as being an avid big game hunter.
Karyn Robertson, PA-C
Karyn is a physician assistant specializing in vascular surgery and wound care. She graduated from the Albany Medical College or Union University and has been practicing vascular medicine for over 38 years. Karyn has been with Western Vascular Institute for a little over a year and has been a joy to work with.
Steve Felder FNP-C, RNFA
Steve, an Arizona native, started his medical career at 18 years old as an EMT. He worked for 5 summers as a wildland firefighter/EMT for the government while in nursing school. He graduated from Glendale Community College in 2002 with his associate’s degree in nursing. Steve completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University-Idaho and received his Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner from Northern Arizona University. He is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at NAU. Steve has also been part of the exam development committee for the certified nurse operating room (CNOR) certification. Steve has 20 years of experience as a registered nurse in the emergency department, cardiovascular intensive care unit, cardiovascular operating room, and the Angio suite at Western Vascular Institute. Vascular surgery has always been his passion and he has had the opportunity to work with Dr. Vranic and Dr. Tarlian for 20 years and enjoys assisting our surgeons in the operating room. Steve along with his wife Kim, have 4 children, Wyatt, Maylee, Madalyn, and Maycee, and they live right here in beautiful Mesa, AZ.
