Ultrasound Follow Up Recommendations
Carotid Artery Disease
- Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) 1-15% = every 2 yrs.
- Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) 16-49% = yearly
- Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) 50-69% = every 6 months
- Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) 70-79% = Surgery
- Internal Carotid Artery (ICA) 80-99% = Surgery
Arterial disease
- 1-49% = yearly unless claudication or rest pain symptoms increase.
- 50-74% = every six months unless claudication or rest pain symptoms increase.
- 75-99% = Intervention recommended, or every three months, unless claudication or rest pain symptoms increase. These are our basic guidelines for arterial disease.
- After the initial ultrasound, if you would like we can add your patient to our schedule based on the above-mentioned recommendations.
